Must I be using a designer to use Silk Mountain Creations?

The vast majority of our work is for designers and decorators.  Using a good designer can save you money in the long run by preventing costly design and decorating mistakes.   You can certainly ask your designer to use Silk Mountain Creations.  We do take private clients that prefer not using a designer.

Does Silk Mountain Creations sell fabric or hardware?

We do not stock any decorator fabric or hardware for you to view.  We can aid you in your search for first quality designer fabric and you can purchase it from us.  There may be a consultation charge for this shopping assistance.  We have many sources for fine designer hardware in many different price points that can compliment any design.  We have samples and color decks for some lines and catalogs for many others in our studio.

Will Silk Mountain Creations use my fabric?

Yes, we do accept "customer's own material" (COM) without upcharge.  However, we will not use lining or interlining from an outside source.  Work performed by us must use our lining and interlining.

Does Silk Mountain Creations accept credit or debit cards?

We do accept Mastercard, Visa and Discover but there is an additional 4% fee added due to the cost of processing.   We do this in order to keep our prices as low as possible.   We are glad to accept cash or checks as forms of payment.

Will Silk Mountain Creations install treatments made by someone else?

Yes, SMC will install treatments fabricated by an outside source.

How much does it cost?

All of our fabrication work is custom and done to order.  It's almost impossible to give you a labor cost until the size, style and detail of the treatment is chosen.  Needless to say, custom work costs more that buying something in a store and hoping that the size works in your home.  We always provide an estimate before starting work on any project.

Is payment required up front?

Silk Mountain Creations does require a deposit of 50% of the estimate before starting work.
